As many are struggling to make ends meet with job layoffs, plant closings, Here are some money saving websites/ newsletters that may of be of help to you.

This one: Debt Proof Living - The Everyday Cheapskate I enjoy getting her daily newsletter filled with lots of pointers on living without debt and helping making ends meet.

One of her articles was on Angel Food Ministries, where you can get groceries cheaper. For $30 you get from $42 - $78 worth of food. Go to the site to see if one exists in your area. Read Mary Hunts' article about them here. If you know anyone that this could help, please share the information.

Allot of stores are pushing sales to attract customers, shop around for good deals, in today's world don't buy what you don't need.

From iVillage comes a new concept this month: precycling. Buying products with less packaging. Buy in bulk, and refill containers, buy fresh food that is not prepackaged, look for items that have less packaging. Avoid single packaged food, try to buy packaged food in containers that can be recycled. Read more from The Green Machine here. Buying in bulk saves money over single packages.

Packaged food costs more, because it is more convenient, but it is not as healthy for our environment. Try making more from "scratch" over buying packaged.

Buy good, clean clothes and other household items at thrift stores and save money.

Microfiber products will help you save money also. You can clean without chemicals and extra paper toweling. Dust without having to use sprays when dusting with a microfiber mitt or cloth.

Get a microfiber mop with a reusable, washable pad, and you won't have to buy those paper replacements ever again. Scrub your floor with just water when using a microfiber mop, eliminating harmful chemicals from your environment.

Microfiber bath towels dry faster on lower heat and in less time than will a cotton towel. Microfiber doesn't dry stiff like cotton when line dried either.

Inspirational Thought For the Month:

In this time of job layoffs and wage freezes, here is an inspirational thought that applies by Roger Birkman: "The reality of life is that your perceptions - right or wrong - influence everything else you do. When you get a proper perspective on your perceptions, you may be suprised how many other things fall into place.

Perceptions can get us into trouble, if you have perceived that your job will always be there, or that you can spend today, and not worry about tomorrow. You maybe in trouble today. Living constantly on credit has caused some major financial struggles in this country. People have not lived within their means. So by changing your perceptions today, you could live a better life tomorrow. Be grateful for what you still have and not stressed over what you don't. Being thankful, starting your own blessing book, can help eliminate worries you have about today and tomorrow.

Another thought by Tryon Edwards: "People never improve unless they look to some standard or example higher or better than themselves."
