Happy Labor Day! 

Fall is on the doorstep and you may be thinking about doing some fall cleaning. Is one of your jobs washing windows? Microfiber cloths and towels are a wonderful "tools" when it comes to window cleaning. Not only do get shiny windows, but the windows don't seem to get dirty, as quickly, because they are not coated with a film left from store bought petroleum based window cleaners.

Just some hot water and microfiber cloths are all you need to have clean, sparkling windows. You can wash them with a wet microfiber cloth and dry them with another, or spray the windows with water and dry them. Some have even just washed them and let them air dry. A 20" x 40" waffle weave microfiber towel will dry lots of towels.

Want a "tool" with a little more scrubbing action - try the waffle weave covered sponge. This will also work great when washing your car. It will hold more liquid in the sponge but give you the pulling, scrubbing action of the microfiber. The white looped mitt was developed especially for washing; the loops give it plenty of surface action. 

During these cooler fall days, get out and enjoy all the fall activities, like picking apples, squashes, pumpkins etc. Go for some long walks in the woods during these beautiful fall days.

One fall activity might is "putting" your gardens to bed for the season. I like to cut off all my plants in the fall separating the diseased plants from the "clean" plants. The diseased ones go in a pile, in our grove, away from the gardens, and the "clean" plants go in the compost pile. I sometimes chop the plants up into smaller pieces so they decompose more quickly. Then in a couple of years I have nice black compost to add back to my garden or to use when I am potting plants.

A fast way to chop up your vegetables in the garden for decomposing is with an old lawnmower or weedwacher. It sure makes quick work of cutting down the "used" vegetable plants. Then we just rototill them in.

If you have allot of plants to remove, I have found that using a hedge shears works great for chopping off alot of flower plants quickly.
